The conflicts of having a continuously growling stomach, getting her driver’s license, repelling Shakira, and trying to win Peter prove how challenging the month of Ramadan is for Almira. I so agree with you on staring at the ocean. I could do that for hours.
I will definitely be getting your book - it sounds wonderful.
Cheers,
Kaz (a fellow ocean-lover)
What was your pet name? That's too cute, by the way!
Lisa_Laura, I don't know where to begin with the pet names. The ones I remember the most were kitten and chickadee (in Kurdish, not English).
And man, I remember my freshman year in the college newspaper, being forced to use a computer mouse and just hating it. I thought, "I'll never use one of these things in my real life. What a waste of time!" Ha!
probably dating myself there....
anyway, welcome!
I love that you're also an artist - I am too! :)
I'm looking forward to your book, as I love learning about different cultures from an organic, natural voice.
I was confused about my name in kindergarden (we had three languages swirling in the house).
I told them I was "Tina Pepo", because I couldn't say my my B's or S's.
Welcome again.
I'm with you on staring at the ocean.. So calming. :)
Your book sounds great. Congratulations!
I also have a draft of a middle grade novel that I wrote in college--it will never see the light of day, thankyouverymuch!
